Keynote Speaker – Matt Glowacki – “Give People a Chance to Surprise You” During the workday, people frequently interact with others who have different abilities and hardships they are working through. Too many times, the absence of information or the presence of misinformation about another person causes people to have far too low of an expectation for what another person can do. This session teaches how and why it is important to see potential in people and how giving them a chance to surprise you, creates camaraderie and promotes company culture.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

  • Any student currently pursuing a degree in a human resources-related field in Illinois.

DRESS CODE & RULES

  • Dress comfortably, and professionally, temperatures may vary.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each team will have 30 minutes to present their cases and 15 minutes for Q&A.

Judges will use a rubric to score the oral presentations based on the teams’ ability to analyze the information presented in the case and clearly and effectively communicate the recommended course of action, using the rubric provided.

April 16, 2024:

Registration – registration is open.

September 6, 2024:

Registration – deadline to register for the IL Student Case Competition.

September 9, 2024:

Case Release – team captains will receive the case via email.

September 30, 2024:

Presentations/Executive Summary due by 5:00 pm (Central time)

October 5, 2024:
