The ILSHRM HR Games and Case Competition is an annual academic team competition where university students within the State of Illinois test their HR knowledge in a Jeopardy-style game format or compete in the Case Competition and present a solution to a business case scenario. This event is a fun way to prepare students for the human resources profession, engage with local HR practitioners, network with future HR leaders, and hear from keynote speakers.

Teams of three students test their academic knowledge answering HR related questions over multiple rounds in a Jeopardy-style game format. The teams that earn the most points in the match advance to the next round. The top two teams advance to Final Jeopardy and the team with the most points wins.
In a case competition, teams compete to deliver the best solution to a business case. Teams submit a written executive summary, deliver an oral presentation and defend the solution to a panel of HR certified judges. The competition prepares student teams for the annual SHRM Regional Case Competition and Career Summit and provides learning opportunities to find strategic solutions to real-life business issues.
