A Different Perspective
On behalf of the more than 12,000 SHRM members, and 21 local chapters in Illinois, we would like to welcome you to our cyber-home for the Illinois State Council of SHRM also known as ILSHRM. Our website is where you can learn about our organization, what we do, and the fantastic volunteers that keep this organization moving forward.
There are many endeavors that the volunteer leaders produce, but our largest and most well known event is our annual state conference, which is traditionally held in September at the Drury Lane Theatre. Due to ongoing COVID-19 safety concerns, and in order to allow our Illinois HR professionals to focus on their employees’ safe return to work, the 2021 conference will be held virtually over three one-half day sessions. HR professionals from around the Midwest will gather to engage with each other, learn from subject matter experts, keep up with trends, learn of ways to enhance their practice through our business partners expo, and to be motivated to return to their workplaces and take on the challenges that face them and their team!
ILSHRM also hosts several “boutique” conferences on the topics of HR strategy, student engagement/games and employment law/workplace policy. Various “pop-up” webinars are also delivered throughout the year, focusing on timely HR topics.
We hope you will check out our volunteer opportunities, or events, and learn more about our chapters. If you have any questions, contact our Executive Director, Lori Maher McCombs at email@example.com.
